Have you considered the name "Majority-choice voting" instead of "Convergence voting"? Convergence voting sounds complex and abstract. This perception of Condorcet as more complicated than it actually is (it's just a majority vote!) has consistently been the biggest obstacle to its adoption.

This sorta informal group that Nicolaus Tideman is tossing together had been considering lots of names. I like your suggestion and I think it was one of the names we considered. I do not know what has been settled on.

Yes, the Condorcet criterion is really a simple generalization of Majority Rule: "If more voters mark their ballots preferring Candidate A to Candidate B than the number of voters marking their ballots to the contrary, then Candidate B should not be elected."

And Majority Rule is just direct consequence of valuing our votes equally (sometimes this is called "One-person-one-vote" even though the historical use of that term comes from redistricting). If Candidate B above is elected, that means that the fewer voters preferring B each had votes that were more effective, that counted more, than each of the votes from the larger number of voters preferring A.

I agree with you that, if and when we get this organization 501(c)(3) status, the name of the organization should be the "Coalition for Majority-choice Voting".

Prof. Foley, that link: "A link for registering for this webinar is available here." does not work for me. I get a big "Uh oh! You seem to have lost your way. ...". I very much want to attend this webinar.
